Get ready to dig into the amazing hidden world beneath our feet!
Worms may seem small, but they are some of nature’s most important animals. In this hands-on workshop, young nature enthusiasts will discover how worms help plants grow, recycle nutrients, improve soil health and support entire ecosystems.
Children will have the chance to:
- Meet our amazing worms in their worm farm
- Learn about worm anatomy and life cycles
- Discover the four main groups of earthworms and identify different species
- Investigate soil using pH testing equipment
- Learn how to encourage worms and healthy soil at home
- Feed our worms using different compost materials and investigate what they like to eat
- Take part in the fast-paced bird & worm challenge to learn how predators find their prey, and how prey avoid detection!
Through games, experiments and hands-on discovery, children will develop a deeper appreciation for these fascinating underground creatures and the important role they play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

This event is open to all children and their families, but if you are a member of a uniformed organisation then join us to get an amazing badge to put on your camp blanket!
*Please note that any bookings made after 10th August that include the badge will miss the initial order deadline and will have to collect the badge at a later date from Wildheart, alternately you can pay £2 on the day and register your address at the end of the session and have it posted to your home address.
