Hover Safari – family day out for just £85!
Are you visiting us from Portsmouth? Then don’t miss out on our Hover Safari February Half Term offer (available 14th to 22nd February 2026)!
Travel to our Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight via Hovercraft and Southern Vectis bus for a great value day out, at just £85 for a family of up to 5 (2 adults and up to 3 children). Your Hover Safari ticket includes return travel from Portsmouth to Ryde with Hovertravel, return travel from Ryde to Sandown with Southern Vectis and full Sanctuary admission for the day, so you can meet our rescued animals, take part in our adventure trail and enjoy our animal talks!
How does it work?
Start your Hover Safari from the Hovertravel terminal in Southsea and travel across the Solent to Ryde in just ten minutes! During the journey, you will be able to enjoy beautiful views of the Island’s coastline and feel exhilarated as you ‘fly’ over the water on this unique mode of transport – a truly unforgettable experience.
Continue your Hover Safari with a short walk to Ryde Transport Interchange, where you can catch the Number 2, 3, or 8 Bus to Sandown. This scenic journey will take you through some of the Island’s picturesque countryside.
Complete your Hover Safari adventure with a short walk along Sandown seafront to the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, where you can enjoy a full day out with us! Meet our animal residents, including Benji and Balu, two European brown bears from Azerbaijan, and learn more about our rescues at our daily animal talks. You can also visit our Wildheart Café for a delicious range of teas, coffees, cold beverages and sweet treats.
The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary is open from 10am to 4pm daily.
