School & Group Visits to the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary

We can offer you a qualified teacher for your morning or afternoon visit who will provide you with a Learning & Discovery Session. This includes a discussion about one of our animal’s stories, how they came to live with us at the sanctuary, threats to their species in the wild, and what we are doing to promote the species as part of our conservation work.

We can also be very flexible and design your group a specialised session if you have a specific curriculum link you would like to be covered. Please let us know in advance and we will ensure the focus of your session will include aspects of that subject at a level required for your group.

During your visit, if you book a Learning & Discovery Session you will have sole use of the Learning & Discovery Centre which you can utilise for lunch, bag drop, and any lesson you wish to provide yourselves to your students after their session.

We are starting to look into offering outreach sessions to groups and schools again soon, please contact us via the email below to register your interest for an outreach session and we will get back to you with what we can offer.

Complete the booking form below to arrange your group visit.

To make a booking, contact the sanctuary to check whether your chosen date is available and to discuss your requirements. You can do this by emailing the Learning & Discovery Department.

If you need to amend or cancel your booking after it has been confirmed, please contact the Learning & Discovery Department at the earliest opportunity.

During busy periods Learning & Discovery sessions become booked up very quickly, so please understand that if you cancel your booked slot, we may not be able to offer you an alternative.

Risk Assessment

We encourage teachers/group leaders to make an exploratory pre-visit to the sanctuary free of charge before bringing their pupils. This will help you to plan your day in detail and to carry out your risk assessment.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer please contact the Learning & Discovery Manager to make the necessary arrangements.

If you are unable to visit in advance you are welcome to use our risk assessment as a model for your own. This document also includes our code of conduct.

If you would like to chat with a member of our team to find out more, please email your contact details to discovery@wildheartanimalsanctuary.org and we’ll get back to you at the earliest opportunity.

We can’t wait to see you again!
