Kerry was our guided tour host and she entertained and informed us as she walked and talked us around the sanctuary. We saw monkeys, meerkats, cockatoos, goats, pigs, lemurs, lynxes, servals, lions, tigers, and of course the recently rescued bears, Benji and Balu.
 
The animals are so well loved and following the sanctuary’s move from a zoo, there is no breeding policy, and it is now a lovely retirement home for rescued and threatened wildlife.  
 
We were so impressed with the whole ethos of the sanctuary, and we all had a great afternoon knowing how well cared for the animals are.
 
We were lucky enough to see the bears playing in their pool within their lovely enclosure, and after a cheeky ice cream, we left for our train and hovercraft back home. 
 
We came for the first time last year, and we plan to visit again next year. 
 
The hovercraft, the train and the sanctuary were all very helpful and accessible in my wheelchair. 

Carol who did the talk was brilliant.

The entire place was wonderful, the animals are so well cared for and the lady who escorted us round was brilliant. To see the animals in those environments was the best.

With enthusiasm and obvious love for the animals, Carol’s tour and talk was excellent. The care that the animals receive, in all aspects of their lives, is outstanding.

The animals all looked well looked after wit lots of space. They are now having a good life.
