A carer accompanying a disabled visitor will be admitted free of charge, on request. Supporting documentation should be provided, for example a current DLA letter or an Access Card with a +1 symbol. The normal admission or membership fee applies to the disabled visitor.

The number 8 Southern Vectis bus service stops right outside the Sanctuary with the number 2 and 3 servicing Sandown town centre.

No part of the Sanctuary relies on the use of steps.

There is a large disabled toilet in our cafe as well as another in the main toilet block.

Assistance dogs are now allowed into the Sanctuary grounds, there are a few areas in the Sanctuary that are excluded to protect the welfare of certain animals, and areas are well signposted.

All dogs are allowed inside the Wildheart Cafe, which is open to the public and accessible without requiring admission tickets to the Sanctuary itself.

The Sanctuary has one manual wheelchair available for free loan. We recommend booking one in advance, particularly during the peak season.  Island Mobility offers wheelchair hire on the Island.

We do not own any mobility scooters. Local firm Wight Phoenix offers scooters for hire so you may wish to consider using them.
