Go behind the scenes with our bears, Benji and Balu at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, and learn more about our rescued bears with your very own expert guide.

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you go behind the scenes to meet our much-loved rescued bears, Benji and Balu! With one of our friendly animal carers as your guide, you’ll discover what makes these two bears so special, hear their heartwarming rescue story, and learn all about how we care for them every day.

During your Bear Experience, you’ll:

  • Meet Benji and Balu up close and see their inquisitive personalities shine through
  • Help hide their tasty morning treats around their habitat – this helps to encourage their natural foraging behaviour (this is certainly their favourite part of the day!)
  • Take a peek behind the scenes at their bedrooms and play areas, and learn about their purpose designed enclosure
  • Enjoy the thrill of opening the sliding gates to release the bears back into their habitat for their morning snack
  • Find out from our carers what it takes to look after these amazing animals
  • Visit our Bear Lookout Centre with your guide and enjoy watching the bears foraging as you ask any questions you may have about Benji and Balu.

After your experience, why not head over to our Wildheart Café for a well-earned treat and chat about your favourite moments, or pop into our Gift Shop to buy a bear keepsake to remind you of your experience!

You can then spend the rest of the day exploring the Sanctuary — and don’t forget, you can come back to visit the Sanctuary within 7 days for just £1 per person!
