All about Softi
Softi was one of 9 tigers rescued by a Poznan Zoo at the Belarussian border in October 2019. The tigers were enroute to Russia to destinations unknown, they were found in a terrible state, starving hungry, malnourished, terrified, and in tiny cages in the back of a horse box. Read the full story.
Softi is thought to be the last to be freed from the transport, after her immediate rescue at the border she went to our partners AAP in Spain. Her behaviour showed tell tale signs of a traumatic past as she displayed signs of severe stress and anxiety, being very restrained and withdrawn. Such memories are hard to forget but an introduction to another of the rescued group, Toph, boosted her confidence and accelerated the healing process. Her rescue journey is now finally coming to an end as she travels to The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, where our team of expert animal carers will give her the devotion and expert care needed for her to finally forget the past, learn to trust humans once more and thrive in our sanctuary, where we will ensure Softi’s character shines once more.
The expert bespoke care plans we provide to our tigers cost around £1,000 a month and as a registered charity we rely on your help. Adoption packs are a fantastic way of supporting each of the animals, like Softi, in our care. Each pack raises vital funds to help us meet these costs which enable us to provide for our animals’ day-to-day healthcare and rehabilitation needs. Please help us to provide the forever home that these beautiful, majestic animals deserve.
