Our Aim

In 2019 we launched “Hedgehog Island” in collaboration with local rescue group “Save our Hedgehogs Isle of Wight.”

The aim was to record just how many hedgehogs there are on the island and we called on the local community to help us find out the size of their population and where they are located.

The three core goals of the mission were to:

  • Inspire and empower Isle of Wight communities to take positive action for hedgehog conservation.
  • Gain a better understanding of the size and distribution of the wild hedgehog population on the Isle of Wight.
  • To provide a safe, permanent home at our sanctuary for rescued hedgehogs that are too badly injured to be returned to the wild.
