Conservation is a major aspect of our sanctuary’s mission
Conservation is a fundamental part of our mission and we strive to protect the animals we love in their natural environment and safeguard the future of every species. We also campaign passionately to preserve the natural world around us to give animals the best hope of thriving and flourishing in the wild.
The sanctuary contributes to conservation in a number of different ways. We have, in the past, taken part in European Breeding Programmes for several species of animals, particularly in our primate section. We have strategies in place to make education about the natural world as accessible as possible, with the hope of inspiring the next generation of conservationists.
We work extensively here on the Isle of Wight and on two major projects abroad.
