Volunteering Opportunities
For many years, our Sanctuary has been at the heart of the Isle of Wight community and one of the best ways we connect with Island life is through our volunteers scheme. People who volunteer for us come from all walks of life and backgrounds, bringing their experience and skills to help our animals and visitors alike. It is richly rewarding for all involved and our Sanctuary genuinely could not function without our talented group of volunteers giving us their valuable time. Our Wildheart Volunteers assist us in many ways, including:
- Gardening
- Site upkeep and maintenance
- Education and public engagement
- Fundraising
- Special events
- Supporting the Animal Care team
- Creating animal enrichment

Things you should consider before becoming a Wildheart Volunteer:
- All volunteers must be at least 18 years old
- Projects can be seasonal – certain times of year are much busier than others
- Volunteering does not lead on to paid employment

Current Volunteering Positions
We are looking for fundraising volunteers to assist us! Are you interested in helping us with any of the following:
- Bucket collections and fundraising events
- Placing collection cans in the community
- Engaging with members of the public and speaking on behalf of the charity to raise awareness of the work Wildheart does
- Representing the charity at community events, fairs, and local activities
- Helping with event set-up, marshalling, registration, and general event support
